The Phoenix (Jersey) School for Therapeutic Arts

The Phoenix (Jersey) School for Therapeutic Arts, is a unique school bringing together martial arts styles from Japan and China, taught in an uplifting and therapeutic way, from our headquarters within the walls of 200+ year old Fort Regent in Jersey.

Originally founded in 1988 as an Aikido club, the school now includes in its curriculum, the traditional japanese sword art Iaido, taught in the Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu style and the Chinese art of Yang-style Tai Chi Chuan.

We are an independant martial arts group who are fully insured to teach all the arts within our School. We have many links, both formal and informal, with highly ranked teachers from around the world in all disciplines to enrich our knowledge base. Many of these Instructors visit us.

We welcome anyone to our School, male or female, from the age of 14 years upwards with no upper age limit. We also welcome people with disabilities and are affiliated to the Jersey Sports Association for the Disabled.

Phoenix Circle of Friendship
It was our intention, when setting up the Phoenix School, to create a community for martial arts students from all over the world where they could feel comfortable meeting to share martial arts knowledge at each others dojo when time and finances permitted with the only proviso being, that they should train in an atmosphere of friendship and harmony, Thus was born the 'Phoenix Circle of Friendship'. This is a non-constituted body which on paper does not exist but to friends that agree to its higher ideals of love, harmony, friendship, integrity etc. it is a vehicle for shared knowledge and experiences.
Many people from around the world are part of the Circle.
